4 weeks to go!
Time has gone by so fast. Can't believe I'm 4 weeks away from having this baby! I'm so ready...ready to see him, hold him and ready not to be pregnant. I have once again been blessed with a wonderful pregnancy. Very smooth and uneventful - actually have to say it was better this time around. Although keeping up with a 3 year old and big pregnant isn't easy.
Kevin is excited about being a big brother soon. He's talking more about the baby and was excited to see him room put together. We were busy this past weekend getting his bedding on his crib, Ben hung the new fan and we even put the car seat base in my car. We're ready!
Kevin is doing wonderful in his new preschool. He's been there right at 2 months now and has adjusted great. Rough start but it got better after a few weeks. Lots of prayer for my little man....I was convinced he was going to get kicked out if he didn't start making better choices. Thankful he is doing better now and enjoying preschool and learning so much.
I am excited about Ben taking maternity leave with me this time around. He'll be off 7 weeks and I'll be off 10. Ben's current schedule at work has up seeing eachother only 2 times a week. 7 weeks together will be a nice change. The 10th week of my leave we are starting Eli in daycare and I'll have a week all to myself. I am really looking forward to that! I think it will help get all of us on schedule before I return to work.
Praying these next 28 days fly by! We're anxious to see you Eli Craig!

Another year older! I can’t believe Kevin is 3 now. This last year has gone by so fast for us and it has been a great year. Kevin is growing up like crazy and became much more independent over the last year. We are super excited Kevin is going to be a big brother soon and can’t wait to see him take on this new role.
Just a few things about Kevin that make us laugh and things I hope to remember when he’s older….
1) He sees our dog Megan (may-may) on the floor and will immediately in a high pitched voice say “look mommy, may-may is being sweet!” It’s the funniest and most random thing but he does it every time.
2) He has recently labeled himself Spiderman and will freeze, put his hands on his hips and say “I’m Spiderman!”. The funny thing is he couldn’t pick Spiderman out of a lineup. He has no idea who he is but has learned from his friends how to spray people like Spiderman and thinks that’s the coolest thing ever!
3) He just recently started using an electric toothbrush that has Thomas the Train on it. He thinks he’s so big!!!
4) He claims everyone is his best friend!!!!!
5) He loves soccer and we hope to enroll him in the YMCA soccer program in January.
6) He sleeps with me when Ben is at work and like clockwork will bring his pillow and blanket into my room and say “mommy I need to sleep with you”. It’s the cutest thing and I know he won’t do it forever so I’m enjoying it for now.
7) Nana and Papa went to Disney World a few months ago. Kevin at the time was very scared of a ghost and a lion in his closet. Papa got a plastic bag, scooped up the ghost and lion and told Kevin he would drop them into the water when they flew over the ocean. To this day if Kevin thinks or talks about the ghost or lion he reminds us that Papa dropped them in the water! Papa is his hero!
8) He had a pet fish named “K” that died a few weeks ago. Now every time we see a body of water he asks us if K is in that water.
9) He loves going to church and will randomly sing church songs in the car when he thinks nobody is listening
10) He knows the theme song to all of his Nick Jr shows.

3 years ago today....
This is a post I did almost 3 years ago while waiting for Kevin to arrive:
I talked to my nurse today and we are officially scheduled for Monday at 10:00! Still doesn't seem real and probably won't until we're at the hospital and in a room.
I'm spending this weekend resting and cleaning. I am attempting to attend a wedding on Saturday - we'll see how that goes. Our doctor's appointment went good yesterday. Dr Maxwell laughed at my huge swollen feet and said "yep - those are big all right!" Kevin's heart rate was great and he estimated he was 7 lbs.
Today I woke up to get ready for work and realized this is one of the last times I wake up and just get myself ready! And probably the last time I wake up to an alarm clock and not a baby crying : )
I'll update more before Monday....and will post final pictures of my belly!
It doesn't seem possible that 3 years has gone by so fast! Kind of makes a mommy sad... Will do a happy bday Kevin post tomorrow!

Back to back post?
I know - it was a shock for me too! But since I haven't blogged very well with this pregnancy I thought I should at least report that baby Andrew/Eli had hiccups for the first time this morning....well the first time I could actually feel them! They are very cute coming from such a small body and lasted a good 5 minutes. I know the bigger he gets, the less cute they are!
Kevin now has 2 1/2 more days at his current daycare. It's so hard to believe it's actually here. His 3 year check up is Friday so he's only there 1/2 day. Not sure if I'm sad he's changing daycares or starting preschool. That's one step closer to "big school" and I'm sure not ready for that.
The name debate is still on....so keep the votes coming! Not that it matters in the end but I still like to know what people think. My parents have made it very clear how much they DO NOT like the name Eli Craig and that may be the reason I go with that name!!

We're still here!
Not much has changed from my last post! Baby is still doing good and he and I are both growing like crazy. As you can see from the poll we are now debating on a name for the baby. Andrew was originally picked out and we both like it, then Eli came along and we liked that also! I especially like Eli Craig and being able to use my maiden name as his middle name. Although Ryan is Ben’s middle name so I like that also. In the end we just don’t know. I know what my gut says so I have a feeling I know what we’ll end up using but until then, he’s just “baby”. Kevin does still call him baby Andrew so that’ll take some getting used to on his part if we change the name.
My sono appt is next Monday the 8th. We get to see if the placenta has moved and if the baby has turned – which I think he has! If all is well in both areas I don’t go back until December and then start every week checkups in January. I can’t believe it’s almost here! This pregnancy has gone by fast and very smooth but I’m ready for it to be over. I enjoy being pregnant but pregnant with a 3 year old is challenging at times.
Speaking of 3 year olds, I can’t believe Kevin turns 3 on Friday. Doesn’t seem possible…. He’s getting so big and talking like crazy – and talking all the time (wonder who he gets that from!). He starts his new preschool next Monday. We’re super excited about it but he’s not. Praying the transition goes smooth and he can adjust quickly. He’s a lot like his mama and gets anxious about everything and then realizes it’s not so bad in the end. But he’s also very stubborn (like his daddy) and I can imagine him sitting in the corner all day because somebody makes him mad! He’s such a mess!!!
Will update after our appt next Monday and Kevin’s first day of preschool…..

Decisions Decisions Decisions
Decision #1: Daycare for Kevin and baby! When we decided to change daycares it actually was a very difficult decision for both of us. I was worried about hurting Kevin's feelings by changing one of the most routined things in his life. Then I had to think about baby and what he would get out of the new place. 2 little lives I could potentially mess up...just great!! We did the most natural thing and began praying about it. We visited several centers, all had good things and not so good things. Then there was one that just stood out amoung them all. It's a Christian based center and they hold chapel every morning at 9am, teaching the kids Bible stories, singing songs and praying. Wow - I was thinking about a new daycare, a place for him to learn letters and numbers and coloring in the lines...never would I have imagined that God would give us this "bonus" in our search for the perfect place. And it is just that - the perfect place. It's about a mile from our house and when both kids are enrolled, we are saving over $200 a month in tuition.
Decision #2: Baby finally has a name. Drum role please.... Introducing Andrew Ryan Sasser! I love it more everytime I see it. No big story behind this name, besides Ryan is Ben's middle name and I don't have to spell it, sound it out to pronounce it or worry about others mispelling it. And with a "simple" name like Kevin, we needed something along the same lines with this one.
We also registered at Babies R Us today. This was so much easier than registering when I was pregnant with Kevin. Just a few things here and there and we were done! Now that we have a new daycare, a name and registered - things are all falling into place. Pregnancy is sitll going good...feeling great and baby is moving like crazy.

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!
It feels just like yesterday I was posting this and here I am again announcing we are having another boy! I really didn't have a gut feeling about this one but had multiple dreams about having a boy. I never would have thought I'd be the mommy of 2 boys! Kevin is so excited about having a baby "brudder" and wants to see him and talk to him all the time.
We're still discussing names - I thought we had a few lined up but Ben has decided he doesn't like ANY of them so I'm back at square one. I'm not into unique, spelled funny, don't know if it's a boy or a girl or can't pronounce it names! I need simple, easy to yell a hundred times a day and don't have to spell names. So the search continues and hopefully ends soon!

We're still here.....
Not much to update on these days...we're still here and all doing great! Pregnancy is going wonderful, baby is moving so much these days, not big kicks just little pokes when I'm hungry (or baby is hungry), when I eat or drink and usually when I roll over in the middle of the night (like baby is trying to comfortable again too!). We find out Thursday what we're having and I'm so ready. My gut says boy but I still refer to the baby as a girl on most days. Dresses and bows sound fun in the beginning but in the end throwing on a pair of shorts and t-shirt for a boy is so much easier!!!
Speaking of easy boys...Kevin is growing again and it was time for his yearly closet clean out and new clothes for the Fall shopping today. He's wearing a size 9 shoe now and 3T shirts and pants - getting so big!!!
Ben had to work overtime today but had a 4 hour gap between shifts so Kevin and I met him in Flower Mound and had a fun shopping day! First we visited the animal shelter in town where Ben had arranged for a tour of the facility. Kevin loved it. All those dogs and cats didn't know what to expect with this toddler everywhere but we had a blast. Next we visited the brilliant stars store in highland village - probably the coolest store I've ever stepped into. Seriously, check them out on Facebook!
I'll updated again on Thursday and post a list of baby names we're considering!!!

Another great appointment
Had my 15 week check up today and all is well with me and baby. I've only gained 5 pounds since finding out I was pregnant...which I'm super proud of because I feel like I'm eating every 2 hours - probably because I do eat every 2 hours! Baby's heartbeat was around 150 again. He couldn't get an accurate reading because he/she was moving around too much. I'm feeling great still and enjoying being pregnant. It feels more real every day especially since I'm starting to feel the baby move a little bit. Our next appt is 9/9 and we find out what we're having. I'm very ready for that appointment. Don't have a gut feeling either way but Kevin is convinced it's a boy so I'm going with boy!
And I have to post the conversation I had with Kevin last week before dinner....
Kevin: "Bix my dinner pwease" (Fix my dinner, please)
Me: "Okay, hang on, I'm almost done with the spaghetti"
Kevin: "I don't wike that bude on my pwate" (I don't like that food on my plate)
Me: "You don't even know what it is yet"
Kevin: "What is it called?"
Me: "Spaghetti and it's yummy!!!"
Kevin: "I don't wike Mrs Petty for dinner" (no need for translation...that's exactly the way he said it and he thinks that's what we ate for dinner that night - good ole' Mrs Petty!)
Goofy kid but we sure do love him lots!

Am I ready?
So just now approaching my 2nd trimester...which by the way has gone by so much faster than when I was pregnant with Kevin...and I'm feeling great! Never experienced any nausea or morning sickness - I can even drink orange juice (which I love) on an empty stomach. This is great. I just know it's a sign that God is going to bless us with an easy going, laid back and quiet baby! Sorry Kevin - the complete opposite of you. Love ya kid but you weren't an easy baby.
Kevin is experiencing what I'm being told is "growing pains" in his legs. It started last night and kept us up all night long. I think the pain went away but getting him comfortable and back to sleep was a challenge. After being up all night and being woken up several times I kept asking myself "am I ready for this again?" My heart says yes but my tired body says no! I would have thought by now the shock of being pregnant would have worn off....it hasn't! I'm thrilled to be pregnant again don't get me wrong but it's still amazing to me that I was even able to get pregnant. Maybe that's the shock that hasn't worn off yet!
Had a check up appt yesterday and baby's heartbeat sounded great! It's so wonderful to hear the heartbeat and know everything is okay. My doctor said he/she was sleeping because the heartbeat was 150 bpm compared to 170 last time! I'm very ready to start feeling the baby move. That was my favorite part last time - especially the hiccups : ) That never got old!
We're in the process of picking out names. Nothing set in stone yet but playing around with a few. Kevin says we're supposed to name the baby Kevin....or mommy or daddy. He prefers names he's already familiar with. When I suggest a name to him he says "nah, that's not a good name!" On the way home he suggested "car, tree or nana" so I'm not sure what Kevin is going to actually call the baby!
Another appt in 2 weeks. No sono until September when we should find out what we're having. My early prediction is a boy....everyone else says girl!

Heartbeat was great! 11 weeks pregnant!
Had another doctor's appt last week and was able to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was a fast 170 and going strong. Still doesn't seem possible to be doing this again but it's exciting.
Went to a wedding in San Antonio this weekend so I was able to stop by San Marcos and shop for maternity clothes!!! Got some really cute things. Everytime I'd come out of the dressing room, Ben would say "Look at that belly!" Yes, the belly is much bigger this time around - MUCH BIGGER! I've got to start taking belly pictures soon!
Kevin is doing great. Getting over a virus this weekend and seems to be feeling better. We're in the "what is that?" and "what does it do?" stage. For example: "mommy, what are those?" "those are lightbulbs, Kevin" "mommy, what do lightbulbs do?" He's no longer satisfied with just knowing what something is, he's gotta know what it does now. It's very cute....at times!
My next doctor's appt is next month. Not another ultrasound until September when we find out what we're having!!! Can't wait!

Don't fall out of your chair.....
I know! Blogging for the first time in over 6 months can you believe it? No comment Elizabeth : ) I've really had very little to update on our blog and since getting Facebook I can't keep up with both!
Like I said so little has gone on since my last post. Kevin is potty trained which is awesome. He's talking up a storm and we're into full sentences now. Ben understands him better than I do most of the time.
I guess I should get to the big news now....We just found out WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!! I'm due January 30th! We're super excited (actually I won't lie - I'm still in complete shock) but everyone else is excited! Kevin is so ready to be a big brother. We saw a baby at the water park this weekend and he stopped to inform them that a baby was in his mommy's belly! He was so cute about it.
Long story short - this was a surprise pregnancy for us. A very wanted and prayed for baby but not planned. We're thrilled though and we know God has blessed us with this baby. He spared us the financial burden of going through fertility treatments again - that alone shows His hand in our lives (as if we needed any more "proof")
I promise to keep my blog updated with updates of Kevin and the new baby. Maybe even throw in some pictures from time to time.

Uts Dat, Mama!
That is the new phase heard around our house constantly these days. "uts dat, mama" (interpreted "what's that, mama") It really is cute but like most things kids say over and over again - it gets old! Kevin is talking up a storm these days. The same child I didn't think would be talking by the time he turned 2 - boy was I wrong.
We started potty training last week with him and he's doing great. We're in pull ups at school and will usually only have 1 or 2 "accidents" during the day. He will be in big boy underwear on December 1st - I think we're all ready!! Something about telling a teacher that a 2 yr old is in underwear sure gets their attention! He stays dry on the weekends with me at home, just have to remind him to go potty every hour or so and he's good. I'm so proud of him and thankful up to this point he is cooperating.
I would like to add a special prayer request for Mike - my best friends husband - who will be undergoing surgery on 11/25.

Happy Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday big boy Kevin! I can't believe you are 2 years old today. You have changed our lives so much since you entered this world and we often wonder what we did without you. I think about all the years we waited and prayed for you. Words cannot express how thankful we are that God heard our prayers and blessed us with you.
You are quite the character these days and talking up a storm. You cannot even imagine all the times we laugh when you don't even know we're watching you. You are a sweet little boy and you kiss any and everything you can - even Thomas on your toothpaste. I love that about you, little man. You have such a sweet heart and you love your family so much. You're loved at your school and church and your outgoing personality draws people to you - even strangers sometimes.
Always know your mommy and daddy love you!

You are a sweet little boy and you kiss any and everything you can - even Thomas on your toothpaste. I love that about you, little man. You have such a sweet heart and you love your family so much. You're loved at your school and church and your outgoing personality draws people to you - even strangers sometimes.

Success
Kevin's procedure was successful this morning. It was over in less than 30 minutes and he did great. We were home by 10:00 and he ate as soon as we got home so he'll get 3 meals in before the probe comes out tomorow at 6:00.
We are tired and trying to keep him from pulling out the tubes and carrying out his probe recorder is a challenge but he's doing great. We did find out from his allergy test last week that he isn't allergic to anything! Yep, not even milk! That was a huge shock. We think he outgrew it somewhere between 18 months and now. We tried cheese about 6 months ago and he had a reaction but we haven't tried since. That is wonderful news for us and for Kevin. He now gets to enjoy string cheese with his friends at school and even the milk when he eats his meals. Of course I just bought the big pack of soy milk at Sam's last weekend but once those are gone, we're trying whole milk again. And yay for regular yogurt. Finding soy yogurt has become a challenge!
All in all, it's been a great day and we're thankful it's over!

He's almost 2!!
Kevin's getting closer to 2 every day and we feel it! He's got quite the personality and since he's talking up a storm - not getting what he wants when he wants it is not a subject he would like to discuss.
Our favorite phrases now include everything that starts with "I". I get it, I broke it, I reach it, I fix it, and I see it. He makes me laugh everytime he talks...it's so strange to hear it and it seems like overnight that all these words formed.
He'll also tell us "ray ray" which we've learned means "right there". So we get sentences like "mama, bird ray ray" and up until a few weeks ago I didn't know what he was trying to tell me!
The flu came and went quickly and thankfully we both stayed well through it all. Kevin does have an appt with the GI doctor at my work to discuss treatment for his reflux. Something he was diagnosed with at birth and we thought had gone away - I think we were wrong. He's not gaining weight like he should (already at 5% for his weight) and coughs his head off constantly, especially after meals. I'm so thankful I work for a hospital that can get him seen so quickly. It's such a blessing. So please be in prayer for him and the doctor as they choose the correct plan of treatment.

He's feeling better....
Thank you God for making our little boy feel better! He's had a rough week but is feeling so much better now. Praying he continues to feel better and the cough goes away completely.
Now we're trying to get back into the routine of going to bed on time and waking before 10am. Monday should be very interesting!

Kevin is sick!
I took Kevin to the doctor today and he has the swine flu and strep throat. My poor baby!!! I felt so bad. I didn't even know he was sick....I mean like really sick. Maybe a cough, allergies or worst case bronchitis but nothing like this. He was at church yesterday and spent the morning at school. Got him in as soon as I could and sure enough...he's really sick!
We're taking turns staying home with him this week and trying to get him better. He has Tamiflu and an antibiotic for the strep. Having to do breathing treatments 4 times a day to keep the junk from getting and staying in his chest. Don't want pneumonia on top of everything else.
Please pray for my little guy that he gets better soon. And pray that Ben and I don't get sick too!!!
